Chalfont St Giles Memorial Hall

School Lane, Chalfont St Giles HP8 4JJ

Map

The Memorial Hall, completed in 1923, was built to commemorate servicemen from the village killed in the Great War and it continues to be used for a wide variety of village activities. The new Millennium Entrance, opened in July 1999, greatly improved the Hall by adding modern toilet facilities, as well as providing a very welcoming entrance foyer. The Hall has its own car park and it is an ideal venue for meetings and village activities.

Facilities

The Hall can hold up to 200 people; seating is provided for up to 150. The main hall measures 13 metres by 9 metres approximately. All events must finish by 11 pm.
There is a large kitchen with facilities for the provision of meals. The Hall may be hired for commercial events at a rate of £20.00 per hour and for private events at a rate of £15.00 per hour. Note: These are the rates for 2012.

Bookings

Bookings can be made by ringing Pauline Schurer on 07895 023103.

The Memorial Hall is mainly used for regular bookings of clubs and societies. For the regular bookings see here.

Private functions - There is limited availability for bookings for private functions for local residents (living in the HP8 postcode area). No parties for 14 to 21 year olds. Requests for private bookings for Saturday nights will be considered on a one off basis taking into account the format of the event and the Hall’s ability to staff it. Price on application.

Hall Lottery - Help us go the extra mile and win a small fortune - The monthly lottery costs £l2 for the year. That works out at a mere 3.2p a day, with the chance of winning major cash prizes each month. Once again we'll be giving away 20% of the pot. Last year we had some 450 members.

If you would like to play, download an application form here, or pick one up from the village library and shops, or you can contact Tony Hoare on 01494 872883.
